Director Statement
The song “You on the Brain” was Anja’s first collaboration with producer and multi-instrumentalist Atdhe Marku and in fact her first collaboration. We all wanted this to be perfect and worked with four and a half minute for almost half a year. There is anxiety going on in the house of Strømsted and Hurst, so the production is a three-man’s and zero budget production executed in both Atdhe Marku’s home studio and Anja’s and in our green screen studio that used to be the living room. With mental health issues at stake and no budget there is a limit to what you can do and if there is a lesson life taught us it is that we have indeed limits. But despite all that we wanted to travel somewhere unbound and chose Mars and space. And that is what art means to us. It is life at its most inexplicable. It is there that we are one, that not a single word needs to be said. There is a sovereignty in art. And there is a sovereignty in love. Nothing can stop us from traveling to space. Nothing in the whole world can stop the three words, I love you.
