Shot in the Spring of 2020 when Anja and Jasmin move into a new house. We watch them find their way trough each other and all the wonderful, strange and old stuff that came with the house.
Artist statement:
The feature film “Velkommen” (2022) can be seen as a continuation of our “Sux Apartment” (2014) that was set in our real studio apartment that was in fact a science fiction film set for a film we failed to produce, and it casts ourselves. Both these films are montages of quirky and darkly comedic scenes. During a collection of short sequences, we get to know Jasmin and Anja as they now move into a new house and find their way through each other and all the old things that came with it. We follow them while they have to deal with various challenges and the viewer stands in the middle of the living room making this an intimate character portrait exploring the dynamics between two people. The messy, completely chaotic and honest nature of this film tells the unmistakable story of the antiheroins at display and their condition in their new house as in the world.
