Miss You When I Don’t

Director Statement

We have done a lot of fast paced music videos over the years and wanted with this one to create something different, a frozen and sculptural universe based on animated camera movements and still images to enabling this 12K size white space. The song tells about paradoxes, negation and agelessness and to us this large white space resembling both a gallery and the infinite space itself is a place outside of time and outside the earthly world. It’s the world of art and artistic objects bringing form to the formless and formlessness to the form, finitude to infinity and infinity to finitude. The doubled subject in the video loses herself and discovers herself endlessly in this space. If you question being, you find its hollowness, but its hollowness is being restored in the world of art, but thus nullified infinitely. This restored being is a repeated reflection of herself, which is a nothingness. The lyrics of the song focuses on love and separation and of missing each other. We think of this space as love, eternally in love, and also as eternal separation. And somewhere out there in this infinite frozen space, we wait for life to be born.
