Artist statement
“Female2Male” is a series of self-portraits captured in my home studio in Norway. Each image is later retouched and altered in Photoshop using AI tools to aesthetically reassign the portraits as male.
As a queer woman, I’m drawn to blurring the lines of gender, creating an expression that exists somewhere between man, woman, and boy with braces. By blending reality and fantasy through AI, I produce conceptual beauty portraits that often leave viewers questioning what is real – fully controlling and reimagining my identity and how the world perceives it.
Through this process, I construct a dreamlike expression of self, one that resists traditional gender and beauty norms and opens space for new forms of representation and ambiguity.
